These successes are the result of years of consistent, dedicated, and hard work by the National Olympic Committee of Armenia and various sports federations. Gagik Tsarukyan

Over the past two days, our talented athletes have given us countless moments of triumphant joy — not only for sports fans but for the entire Armenian people.
A short while ago, Malkhas Amoyan became European champion in Greco-Roman wrestling for the fifth time, while Karen Aslanyan won bronze medal in the same championship. Yesterday, Alexandra Grigoryan became vice-champion of Europe in weightlifting. The revelation of the championship was Suren Aghajanyan, who, competing in his first senior European championship, defeated the reigning world and European champion — Azerbaijani Nihat Zahid Mammadli — and will fight for gold tomorrow. We also have another vice-champion of Europe in weightlifting: Garnik Cholakyan.
These successes are the result of years of consistent, dedicated, and hard work by the National Olympic Committee of Armenia and various sports federations. Dear athletes, be sure that I am always by your side and I am proud of you.
Once again, I congratulate our winning athletes and their coaches, and I eagerly await the performances and new victories of our other athletes.
