Dear Compatriots, Armenians across the globe, and cherished friends of our country,
I am pleased to share important news:
The work to erect the statue of Jesus Christ has begun and will soon advance with full momentum. I am confident that this initiative will open a new chapter in our nation’s history—one filled with hope and achievement.
In recent months, I have received numerous messages from distinguished Armenians abroad as well as from ordinary citizens, expressing their wish to contribute to the construction in various ways, including through financial support. Their desire to take part in this historic undertaking is deeply moving.
Having assumed full responsibility for the statue’s construction, my family has chosen to cover all costs of the project.
For this reason, I have had to decline offers of financial assistance. Nevertheless, I am sincerely grateful for every expression of goodwill and support. Although the idea of erecting the statue originated with my family, the monument belongs to the entire Armenian nation, to the friends of our country across the world, to all Christians, and it will stand as a national symbol.
In response to the strong wish of many to contribute, I have instructed the development of mechanisms to enable participation. Armenians everywhere, as well as all those of goodwill toward our country, will have the opportunity to take part in the process—whether by planting a tree, bringing a bucket of soil, placing a stone, or otherwise contributing, with prayers on their lips and hope in their hearts.
Practical opportunities will be created, and the public will be informed on how they may become involved. A century from now, our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will proudly recall that their forebears helped to raise this monument. It will be a legacy of which future generations can be proud.
I myself will be present at the construction site, working alongside the builders, sharing in every task as needed.
All who wish may do the same. Together, through our joint efforts, the statue of Christ will rise—becoming a lasting symbol of national renewal, of unity within our society, and of Armenia’s presence before the world.
