MP of PAP Mikael Melkumyan doesn’t know if Serzh Sargsyan-Gagik Tsarukyan meeting has taken place or not but says that Tsarukyan can’t stand idle by.

Gagik Tsarukyan’s press secretary Iveta Tonoyan neither confirmed nor denied the information published in the press, according to which Serzh Sargsyan had met with Gagik Tsarukyan in his mansion. Yesterday giving an interview to Azatutyun Gagik Tsarukyan opened some quotes saying that it was necessary to unite around a common idea putting aside personal interests. Let us recall that according to the information in the press during Sargsyan-Tsarukyan meeting Serzh Sargsyan said that they had no time for playing games, the country was in a tough situation and they had to stick together. When we asked Melkumyan how Serzh Sargsyan’s words and Gagik Tsarukyan’s latest statement were connected the MP said that the information about Sargsyan-Tsarukyan meeting was from “hypothetical” genre.
“As for Gagik Tsarukyan’s opinion about the unification, he has a clear position that the country is in a tough situation as well as the economy, moreover, we have the problem of Artsakh and the man of his type who has a great contribution to all spheres of public life can’t stand idle by”, Melkumyan said. The MP opines that Tsarukyan’s return to the politics has a vital importance for social life. “Because no non-governmental force could fill his absence”, he said calling on to wait Gagik Tsarukyan’s statement.
Let us remind that on December 3 at the Political Council of the PAP there were calls for Gagik Tsarukyan’s return and afterwards the council members made the same calls in front of Gagik Tsarukyan’s mansion. Tsarukyan asked for time saying that in the near future he would make a statement.
