On October 8 the president of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, and the president of the European Olympic Committees, Partick Hickey, paid a two-day visit to Yerevan. The guests were received at the Zvartnots Airport by the president of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, Gagik Tsarukyan, and our Olympic and world champions headed by Albert Azaryan. From there Thomas Bach and Patrick Hickey headed to the presidential residence where they were received by President Serzh Sargsyan. After the meeting Gagik Tsarukyan organized a formal supper in honour of the guests which was attended by all representatives of the Armenian sport. During the evening the guests watched a film about reforms of the last decade done in the Armenian sport. Gagik Tsarukyan’s activity in the sphere of sport didn’t escape the attention of international organizations. For his contribution to the development of sport and dissemination of the Olympic ideology Gagik Tsarukyan received highest awards from the presidents of the International Olympic Committee and the European Olympic Committees.
