Naira Zohrabyan: There is no need to collect signatures demanding Gagik Tsarukyan’s return

Former leader of “Properous Armenia”, entrepreneur and MP Gagik Tsarukyan hasn’t clarified yet if he is going to return to politics or not. Earlier, Tsarukyan told journalists that he had to be asked to return to politics.

These days there were some press publications that people collected signatures in the streets for Gagik Tsarukyan’s return.

Meanwhile, PA leader Naira Zhrabyan noted in a conversation with 1in.am that there is no need for collecting signatures as the return of Tsarukyan is a national demand. “I don’t understand what we are talking about, but I know one thing that there is no need for signature collection because it is the people’s demand. Every day dozens of people come to our party demanding his return. And this demand can be considered as a signature”, said N. Zohrabyan.

We inquired if the signature collation in the streets had been done by ordinary members of the PAP. “I don’t rule out that this can be the initiative of some of our regional structures but I repeat that there is no need for it. It is clear without any signature collection that today Gagik Tsarukyan is the most required politician”, said Zohrabyan.

A meeting of the political council of the PAP will be held on December 3 and we asked Naira Zohrabyan what will be the agenda of the meeting. “This is an ordinary meeting of our political council during which we discuss inner party and organizational issues”.

When we asked if there would be a discussion about Gagik Tsarukyan’s return Naira Zohrabyan answered, “The meeting of the political council is a free platform of discussions for us, The meeting will be attended not only by the members of the political council but also by representatives of our regional structures and at this moment I can’t predict what question will raised by one or another member of the party. Our meetings of the political council are open platforms for discussion of any issue as it is in many other democratic parties”.
