The phenomenon of Gagik Tsarukyan is in the consolidation: Aram Harutyunyan

The leader of “National Accord” Party, Aram Harutyunyan, hasn’t thought of participating in the elections yet, but, however, he has such a desire.

In a conversation with a correspondent of Lurer.com he said that everything depends on the further political development, “Today I imagine myself in a team where people are really worried about the future of our country. And I personally will do everything for the consolidation of the political forces which will organize a national movement”, he said.

As for Gagik Tsarukyan’s return, H. Harutyunyan noted that he considered possible his return because Gagik Tsarukyan is one of those unique and exclusive people who stay faithful to their principles.

“Gagik Tsarukyan is one of those exceptional people who stayed faithful to every word he said. Even after the well-known events of February and the subsequent attitude of authorities, he didn’t change his position and didn’t negotiate with them like other parties such as ANC or “Heritage”. Gagik Tsarukyan not only didn’t change his position but didn’t make concessions either, although the authorities created such an opportunity. Closing that page, now he appears before the people with a clear conscience”, he said stressing that if the people really want the return of Gagik Tsarukyan to big politics, it will certainly happen.

“The phenomenon of Gagik Tsarukyan is his knack of uniting people. If he makes such  a decision and returns with his team he will really unite the political forces, especially, the opposition. Gagik Tsarukyan also has a great sense of responsibility which the other political forces or politicians almost lack. He will never call on the people to go out and gather near Myasnikyan statue while sitting comfortable at home. In other words he is responsible for everything. When he felt that the moment of bloodshed matured he prevented it saying that he didn’t want people to shed blood”, he added.

Answering the question if the next elections will be reformed H. Harutyunyan hesitated saying that especially rating vote is rather problematic and may cause serious problems to small parties. “If there aren’t big alliances small parties won’t be able to participate in the elections and Gagik Tsarukyan’s return is also important in these terms”, he stressed.

Continuing his speech the leader of “National Accord”  Party noted that today the authorities have some concerns, therefore they will do everything to impede the consolidation of the opposition as they clearly understand that they will face serious problems in case of this consolidation. “It is very important for the opposition and non-governmental forces to unite and come up as an alternative to the authorities. The authorities already know the opposition and feel every step of it. And if the opposition unites it will have rather serious problems”, he noted.

In Aram Harutyunyan’s opinion the newly-formed alliances and political forces can bring freshness in the political field but for implementing a radical change of government all the political forces must unite.

Answering our clarifying question if he would join those forces he said that this desire should be bilateral: “I believe in those political forces and don’t rule out any cooperation with any of them. If today we really have negotiations about the consolidation I will join them and personally will do my best to unite them”.
