According to the leader of “National Accord” Party, Aram Harutyunyan, the opposition should go to the 2017 parliamentary elections in large alliances. “If the opposition unites and presents a joint list then there will be a change of government because the government understands that no matter how they play with numbers but they collect 50 % + 1 vote. Therefore, the opposition will have more than 50% of the votes and will form a government. But today most of the opposition is busy impeding the formation of alliances”.
In his opinion the forces that don’t want large alliances play the game of the government involuntary helping it. “The forces that don’t want to form alliances are going to trade with the government and then to blame people for not voting for them”.
The leader of the party considers important Gagik Tsarukyan’s return to politics in the unification of the opposition. Aram Harutyunyan opines that this person can consolidate the opposition. “Till February 12, 2015 there was a strong opposition in Armenia and the authorities reckoned with it. The people were ready to stand by the opposition and when Gagik Tsarukyan left the politics the opposition split up”.
