On the 110th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide
We commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in a time marked by new losses, emerging challenges, and a historic reshaping of global relations.
Yet nothing can compel the Armenian people to forget their history or to forsake the memory of innocent victims.
On this solemn day of remembrance, Armenians across the diaspora—descendants of those dispersed by the Genocide—join together with the friends of our nation to pay tribute to the martyrs of 1915.
Nothing can extinguish the centuries-old aspiration of our people to live in a secure, sovereign, and flourishing homeland. The commitment to safeguard the Armenia of our dreams persists across generations and geographies.
The recent acts of ethnic cleansing and displacement in Artsakh have deepened our understanding of the value of our homeland and the critical importance of national unity. In this new chapter, we reaffirm the indispensable role of our unifying national institutions—our language, our cultural heritage, and the Armenian Apostolic Church—as pillars of resilience and continuity.
On the centennial of the Genocide, I built the Church of the Holy Martyrs as a symbol of remembrance and reverence. This year, we are called not only to remember and to bow before the memory of our martyrs, but to stand together in support of one another as we navigate an increasingly difficult path.
Today, more than ever, we are in need of inner reconciliation, the unity of the Armenian world, the restoration of our statehood, and the pursuit of a renewed Armenian renaissance.
Nothing can compel the Armenian people to forget their history or to forsake the memory of innocent victims
